This photo shows golf legend Ben Hogan on the 9th green at Oak Meadows (known at the time as the Elmhurst C.C.). Hogan won the 1941 Chicago Open, defeating a talented field which included Craig Wood and Sam Snead. Wood came into the event having already won the ’41 US Open and Masters.
For his victory, Hogan collected a whopping sum of $1200!
